6 alarm fire at 289 Grand St. and Eldridge - allegedly began at 10pm

WOW, I was at that fire and it was nothing like I have ever seen. I felt like I was on the set of a movie. There were fire trucks, hundreds of fireman, helicopters, police, a gawking crowd. It was a bit scary and a totally unforgettable experience!

yeah i was there too...it was so freaky. i was on the other side, standing on allen street watching the blaze. i hope the new feeds are wrong and that everyone is okay.
